Hey everybody, it's been a while but I finally got some time spare. I was thinking my place would be awesome to host a manshed day. Tingalpa is sort of Central to a lot of people and my joint is just 500m from the gateway. Plenty of room for everyone and if people wanted to stay the night before, I have a bar complete with pool table and room with six beds for anyone to stay the night in case you want your shims done like me, as in why I really would like to host the next one boys. I will probably want to get advice on where I should get shims from. Perhaps if anyone who has a kit could tell me which ones they are low on and I'd buy a heap to top up your kit.
So if anyone wants to pick a date I'm open to what comes up.
Hope to hear from you all soon
Cheers from Steve ( Bender )
Sounds like a good idea to me. Always happy to meet up with follow fjers. I am open to any suggestions for the date, but would most likely have to take you up on your offer of accommodation.
Mark
Steve
I would say just call a date and the true believers will come.
Dates to watch would be the Muster and Troyskies Shed day.
Cheers.
Fantastic Steve, ..... Ummmmmm, we`ve got a Southern weekend in Nowra at the start of Summer (Nov 27th ) and the sensational Mapleton Muster at the End of October....so somewhere around end of September would be good me thinks (we got a gold coast night on the 19th)....I`m thinkin who is on Shift work that could priortise the exact date? (Harvey, Trent, Horse, Baldy for examples)....if no such notifications come in via PM or post over the next week or so,.....unless you`re in a hurry,...... maybe somewhere around the end of September makes sense for now imho..... (popcorn)
Either way I`ll be there......even if it`s only ta collect snooker bets & feed my face! :drinks:
Count me in.
Cool guys, end of September sometime is cool. By then I will have that other FJ1100 that I have purchased after some cool person(horrible with names) put me onto at the last manshed. It was the one on gumtree in Woolgoolga. I've been down for a look. I just got to pick it up. So that will be something new to look at.
I'm in no real hurry. End of sept. is something we can start with and go from there .
No probs at all with anyone wanting to stay the night.
I will check in soon and we'll see if we can get a big more input for the date. Cheers guys
:drinks:
So Steve are we on for Saturday 26 September?
If so I'm there their or they're I'm coming !
Darran
If someone has a shim kit I would like to get them done in my bike. I would be happy to pay for any items used.
Mark
Bit of a Doh! Moment. I have just been reminded that I have something else on, on the 26th. Bugger. :ireful:
Nooooooooooooo :ireful: :ireful:
I'm away in Wooyung on our annual camping trip. *sigh*
I'll hopefully join the mix with the Randy bike - if not, I might just bring by fuel cap for the deflapper micro surgery...
Some silly bugger went & broke a bone in right hand...Back @ the Quack Wed prior...

Bugger Mate.. Hope you heal fast...
Hi everyone, yes the day is booked in for this Friday night the 25th and I have enough beds for six people . We can drink to our hearts content and then Saturday the 26th we can do whatever to whoevers bikes. So I know that on Friday night there is going to be a BBQ. Burgers that are huge with everything will have to be $5 guys.
On the Saturday morning if your there from night befits or come early enough on the day, my shout for bacon and eggs and toast and fresh OJ.
So you are welcome to come anytime you like, first in best dressed with the bedding arrangements .
Address is 1497 Wynnum Road, Tingalpa.
Booze has already been covered as I have a bar in my backyard that is open to friends and family. It has a pool table and a bar. Beer , mixed spirits, spirits by the shot glass, soft drinks that are all for sale at the bar. Just to cover the costs.
Anyways, I have most tools that are required for working on the FJ's. I don't have the tool used to take the caps off the top of the fork staunchions. I do have a decent torque wrench and a copy of the clymers manual on PC that we can print out if needed.
Call me on 0450977474 for any questions okay
Cheers and hope to see you all soon
Stephen

Hey Darran, sorry for being so late with the reply. The date is the 26th but you are quite welcome to stay the night before mate.
Oh and I forgot to mention I think that there will be a few muso's playing away in the backyard too. If you get here early enough I'm shouting breaky with bacon and eggs, toast and fresh OJ. Lunch will be BBQ something or other.
Hopefully I c u soon mate, talk soon , Steve/Bender :bye:
Sounds like a ripper of a manshed, unfortunately I won't be able to make it. Bugger
hi everybody, just wanted to say that were all prepped and ready for anyone who's coming along to the Manshed night before/day!! My mates next door are a local social motorcycle club, you may know of them, The Vagabonds MC of Brisbane. They are not outlaws or a 1% club. Just a top bunch of blokes that love bikes. I know that a few of you guys have bumped into some of my mates from The Vagabonds MC. So i know that they will all love to meet anyone of you all as I've mentioned what top guys you all are. So you are all totally welcome to go and have a few drinks and a burger at the little bar that they have created in the backyard. Also on the Saturday they host a open mic thing where everyone from around the place brings their instruments and has a go.
So anyways guys, hope to see you all soon.
Sorry to all the guys that cant make it, ill try to get heaps of photos for you all.
Ciao for now, Steve(Bender)
:drinks: @ my place tonight. SUPER SPECIAL INVITATION TO ALL FJ OWNERS
Delicious burgers and chips. Pool table. My shout for first drink at the bar. Which has beer, soft drinks, some spirits.
Don't forget, there's plenty of room. I have a six bed guest room. All the beds are nice and clean. Simple small beds but comfy. :good:
So come one, come all!
And of course don't forget the main event,
The fixing of the beauties. I think I'll just be putting new fork oil in my new FJ1100, which I've been riding around and very pleased with. Apart from a little bit of dive, she's great. Although this example does have the "second gear" issue. Now I know why everyone asks me about it. My first one obviously had the kit put in it.
Well I'm looking forward to seeing some FJ's, and the friendly folk that own them hahaha, talk soon
Bender
G,day Bender, My bike is pretty much sorted so I don't need to do anything to it, but I'll bring the gear to do the timing advance mod if you or anyone else wants it done. I'll be down Saturday morning, only take about 40 min to get there. Be warned, it'll probably rain or hail sometime throughout the day, it's happened at every Manshed day so far, can't see this one being any different.
All organised for tomorra (well sort of) be there around 8.30 ish. Would luv ta be there tonite but got a hot blind date!
cheers, Doug

Shaping up for a good one guys..... :drinks:..have a couple for me :good2:
Might make one one day, bloody work... :dash2:
Cheers Timbo..
Thanks to Bender for hosting this Manshed day. Although no work was done on any of the bikes, it's always good to get out and mingle with fellow members. The Vagabonds MC next to Bender are good blokes, have a good setup, and are very accomadating.
More of a chill out day than anything, having a beer, shooting a few games of pool, and the General giving a joy ride to a young tacker in his sidecar.

Bender bought this bike for spare parts but turned out better than the one he had so he's riding this one around.

As always with Manshed days it rained. Light shower going home, but once home it pissed down. Couldn't hear myself think in the shed later having a beer.
:drinks:
Just to echo the thanks to Bender and the Vagabond crew for the hospitality today.
An enjoyable and relaxing Saturday.
Cheers
Harvy
Many thanks Bender. Really enjoyed. The calibre of FJ ownership never fails to surprise me. Bikes, Beehives, Billiards, BBQ, BW and a Bar! There`s even a community firepit!
Thanks again Harv for those free engine bars. Clouds looked a bit menacing in Bones`s direction (and XRay`s camping area!), but managed to skirt it all for a pleasant run home without a wet arse! :drinks:
Hey guys, saw the posts and pics. It was a great day even though we just talked about bikes and didn't get our hands dirty. Any time guys. You are all welcome anytime. It was great just to see ya's all again. Anyone in the area just pop in. I'm usually home and happy to have a chat and a beer. You know where I am.
My next place is going to have a garage if I have to build one myself. Maybe we'll try it again one day.
Sorry I missed getting some photos. But nice ones from Bones, thumbs up.
Talk soon guys, and thanks for coming.
