Is item 5 what you are looking for?

Or item 18?

Either one can be sourced from Randy at RPM quite quickly if needed fast. Plus he will have good prices and can supply all the other bits you will need for this job.
randy has the gasket. not sure why i havent found it in my manual yet but its the aluminum gasket for the heads not the valves
ooc does randys carb rebuild kit have stock jets or the recommended (larger) jets?
110/42.5/155

My knowledge of the head gasket is limited to the one time I pulled the FJ head but to add to the knowledge base when shopping for a FJ 1200 head gasket you can run across 2 different Yamaha versions. The picture below shows the difference. The top one is the newer style and the one you probably want. RPM sells the newer version I am sure. The older version you will see on e bay and resellers of discontinued parts so heads up.

If you do the job you will need a couple of special copper washers and seals also.
Your comment on "engine expells compression from some unidentified location" could also be a valve.

I am sure you can request what jet sizes you want, and Randy can make recommendations once he knows more about your bike.
ugh.
i wanted to rebuild the engine looks like i may get my wish :dash2:
found the gasket in the book, 3-46.
I'll pick up the engine gasket kit also, trying to fix an oil drip maybe ill get lucky.
while were on the subject when i decelerate via compression i occassionally hear this sound which i can only describe as jingling keys.

I have to ask: Have you accounted for all your keys?
