Title: Starter cut off relay.
Post by: Timbo-1 on July 27, 2015, 06:36:54 AM
Seems my FJ 12 let me down today... :empathy3: hit the starter and nothing, had ignition lights so that was all good. Removed the seat and after checking the main fuse which was ok I grounded the White/blue wire on the starter relay and starter spun over... :good2: I wired a temporary switch so I can still ride till I can look farther.
I'm guessing it could be the starter cut off relay up front under the fairing, do these crap out much or should I be looking else where?
Bike is a 87 UK....I think.
Cheers Timbo.

Check  that the sidestand switch, and the clutch switch are working as Yamaha intended. Also check that the Run/Stop switch on the throttle switchblock is good.

Found the problem here quite quickly... :good2:
Was a poor connection in the connecter block pictured below.
