Title: 1993-1998 GSXR1100 rear wheel
Post by: hawkaholic37 on July 14, 2015, 11:54:09 PM
Does anyone know if a 1993-1998 GSXR1100 rear wheel is a drop-in, bolt-on swap for an '87 FJ? Thanks

Hi

I think the "Straight swap" (with minor work) is up until the 96 GSXR. After 96 Suzuki changed the axle size. (have been doing research on this too) there is a file here that details all years and mods needed.

You have read this a bit but here is the most direct swap information.  Any deviation from what is spec'd here will require modifications.  For the easiest swap stick to exactly what is published in this post.  http://www.fjowners.com/index.php?topic=2465.0 (http://www.fjowners.com/index.php?topic=2465.0)

Beware on e bay a lot of sellers do not know what they are selling.  Many have bought wheels they thought would work and ended up with unnecessary problems to solve.  My advice is read the information a few times, take notes and learn what to look for.   I am not bad mouthing e bay, I personally have had good luck with them but when I did the conversion I spent a lot of time getting it straight exactly what would work and what it looked like.  The last time I counted there was 37 threads on this conversion in the forum.
