Title: Getting older...
Post by: jo-sommer on July 10, 2015, 06:50:18 AM
so my Effy did get  Superbike handlebars incl. new grips and weights as well as longer Spiegler brake lines, CBR mirrors and a higher MRA touring windshield this week.

Now it suits my damned chipped spine... :pardon:

Cheers Jo

Here is another mod that is easy to do that will give you a bit more leg room.

Adjustable foot pegs. Here is the thread, the ebay link for the pegs is in the thread.

Being of the slightly older persuasion with multiple knee repairs I went the same route as Pat Conlon and fit the Buell foot pegs. These are less money but the return spring cannot be used. Also the hole is larger than the stock FJs. Pat made some nice looking nylon liners to make his fit. I installed mine as is and they are loose but work just fine. These foot pegs drop about 1 inch and I adjusted my shifter down as far as it would go and it works fine for me. I am also thinking of getting a seat pad (coleman makes a nice black one for atv's for about $20). This is not for my arse end as I have multiple 12+ hour days on the stock seat but to get slightly more leg room. I suspect other members have done this not for arse comfort but more for leg room.  Dave
