I'm a non participating member of an Australian automotive forum. It has 20,000 members, 2 million posts, users on-line regularly exceeding 1,000 etc and a staggering amount of information compiled over 15 years and no doubt just like the FJ forum, many friendships and events have developed through it.
As a member, I received a notice from it's founder/owner. He had come within a whisker of dying recently and it occurred to him that if he had, the forum would disappear with him and all that priceless information and connectivity would be lost into the ether. He has now re arranged matters to make sure this can't happen.
Many here would be devastated if the FJ forum were to disappear in a whiff of smoke.
I know nothing of how forums are set up but does anyone know if the survival of this one is solely reliant on Marsh's good health and ongoing interest or if a contingency plan exists?
