Title: Suddenly, new ambulance
Post by: JPaganel on June 22, 2015, 09:58:06 AM
So, I was browsing CL. I know, I know.  I should stop.

Came across a 1986, and it followed me home for $1000.

Starts and runs, not very well - bet it's dirty carbs. I was told valves were checked and found in spec.  Has a Vance & Hines pipe, windshield that looks brand new. Engine is a little dirty. Oil is nice and clean. Newish tires. The rear fender is a little off-center, but so far as I can tell it's just the subframe tweaked a little. Worst case, I should be able to transplant the subframe from the old one.  A couple of electrical gremlins - intermittent no-start, seems like a killswitch problem, and an always-on neutral light. Shouldn't be a big deal.

I think I'm going to transfer my matched lock set and the nice late-model forks from the wreck to this one.

No pics yet - weather sucks today, and it's under a cover.
