Title: Inner tube of 85 Fork in a 91 Outer tube
Post by: ct7088 on June 14, 2015, 02:40:40 PM
I think it will work but I'm not sure, does anyone know the answer? The inner tube on the 91 forks have some pitting and I would like to use the the ones from my 85 which are in good condition. A second question is whether the top cap from the 91 set will work in the 85 inner tube?

Yes, everything will work. The only difference is the reduced diameter of the outer diameter of the early model fork between the triple tree.

Thanks Randy. Now I know what I need to finish this tire swap project. My plan is to wear down my 16" Avons before changing to the 17" wheels and their Pirelli Angels. Does anyone out there have 17 mm axle and gear unit (speedo drive) for a Thunderace front wheel?

How timely!

I was just about to ask this question myself.
