Title: FJ600 moving along
Post by: JPaganel on May 30, 2015, 01:59:36 PM
So, I am progressing with the baby FJ.

Measured valve clearance, was pleasantly surprised it's in spec. Was unpleasantly surprised by the condition of those little grommets on valve cover bolts. New gasket and grommets incoming.

Carbs have new float needles and seats. Need to set floats now. I hate setting floats. Really, worst thing about carbs is these stupid floats. I built a nifty stand to do it on, though...

Do you have any tips on syncing and tuning the carbs once on the bike? I'm in the final weeks of my project. Hoping to try and start her next weekend and want to be sure that the carbs wont prevent that and that i can also get her running smooth enough to take around the block. Thanks for any help.
