Last night I had a dream (not a dirty one for a change  ) the dream was I was trying to shoe horn an fj1200 engine into a r6 frame lol. it got me thinking how much I would actually love to try fitting an fj12 lump into sport bike chassis. sorry to bore you all just felt the need to share lol.
Yeah, its an interesting idea :-)
I don't have an R6 here to measure but.......
these are some areas you might have difficulty with:
Engine length, width (especially at the head), and height.
Also space for the carbs to be and some kind of air cleaner arrangement would be problematic.
None of the above difficulties would pose a problem if you have a TIG and know how to use it. Cut and weld bits in anywhere you need some more room.
This might affect handling though.
Oh yeah, you'd also have to replace all the suspension bits due to the extra weight.
Have fun, keep us informed
Pics !!! We need pics. :-)
I had a dream of a FJ engine in a polished aluminum Spondon frame and that banana style single sided swing arm.
