I've used the 16 inch versions, and have just put another set on the FJ that I will be riding to the Central Rally next month. I like them. They work good in wet or dry. Mileage that you get out of them, depends on a number of factors, but I have found that what I get out of them is comparable to the Pirelli Sport Demons which offer the same performance.

So far they look like they are what I will buy.
$50 less than I have found Pirelli's for.
Thanks for the review.

I have run both the Avon Roadriders and the Pirelli Sport Demons in stock sizes.  Had great experiences with both!  I got 5,500 out of the Pirelli rear and just a big more out of the Avons...  The Sport Demons are a great tire...a bit stickier for sure.  I mount and balance my own tires and the largest difference between those two is the construction.  The Avons are like tissue paper compared to the Pirellis...On the upside, the Avons are lighter and easier to hand-mount...but on the downside, they're not as heavily constructed.  The Pirellis are BEEFY!

If I'm carving canyons, it's the Pirellis...If it's a long road tour, it's Metzeller ME880 Marathons.  BRUTAL to mount those by hand, but freakishly durable.
