Title: carb/air/fuel screw adj ?
Post by: turbocamino on May 13, 2015, 03:52:41 PM
Attempting an idle/air/fuel adjustment...been reading our files regarding 'blip' test...mine does seem to dip down to 900 and them back to the desired,1100rpm...that said ... does this indicate  a bit rich or lean?  thanks

Rich = drop below idle after blip - try 1/2 turn in

Lean = hanging above idle after blip- try 1/2 turn out.

This works real good , check it out.    http://www.factorypro.com/tech/carbtun.html (http://www.factorypro.com/tech/carbtun.html)

If you read about the blip test then follow the process to by certain you're adjusted correctly. The last time I adjusted my carbs the response was opposite that described above. When I turned them too far in I got a bog followed by a drop in RPM. Too far out and the RPM would hang.

That's why I always encourage people to follow the full test to make sure you get the best results. Only takes a few more minutes. Why guess when you can be sure they are adjusted correctly?
