I got the shiny bits bolted back on and cleaned up for a ride today. Rode up the Crest, wary of others riding in my lane due to recent news... I passed an '84 FJ (Red and Silver) going down so I pulled over and chased it down. Caught up and made contact, pulled over and off he went... Guess he did not want to talk.... :ireful:
Got to Newcomb's Ranch and had a cup O' Chilli, good stuff. Took a pick of the shiny bits and ran back home....

I am really liking the RPM rear shock... Still getting used to it but my confidence is growing like the RPM fork valves. I had a few miles to burn off the rear end today and I was pleasantly surprised to see my Chicken Strips cut in half when I looked at my rear tire...

Mark, I too have run across another Fj and made efforts to 'make contact', then told them all about this great forum. Never had one sign up. Perhaps our Fj aura is just too overwhelming for some?
Oh well, keep spreading the word.

Considering he was leaving a popular motorcycle hangout near my house, I have a good chance of seeing him again, parked...
Great start on the polishing Mark, now, about those wheels, Pat and I could lead you further down the path, if you so choose.

The rear wheel get some attention next considering it needs new skin. I don't plan to polish it yet but I will clean it up and add some fresh paint.
Last Sat I put new rubber on the rear and some cosmetic changes to the rear wheel.
Out with the White, masked off the raw aluminum.

A touch of Gold to enhance the new FJ colors...

Then off to scrub in the fresh skin...
Newcomb's Ranch had a major event, I have never seen this place this packed...

Walking the lot was fun, bikes of all makes and years, no other FJs though.... But plenty of nice things to look at....
Nice job Mark!
I am really liking the gold. :good:
I also enjoy walking the lot at "Bike Night" or Ride-Ins like that.
It's fun to see the variety of bikes that people bring out.
looking good Mark --- paint job looks perfect ---- now you have to keep them clean....... but considering they were white before you must be in good practice.
The white front should be easy to paint now to complete the job.

Yep, the front will get updated when the tire is replaced.
I like the gold color with that bike. :good2: The polished edges will set it off nicely.
George
looks good , :good2:
Gold and silver trimmed paint, Gold and silver wheels, add the iridium windscreen and you will be all set for the Rally.
