Rule #1) EVERYONE is TRYING to KILL you.

We have to remember to check six.

Good reminder Mike..  Always in gear hand on clutch while at a stop around town.  Not saying that's the way to ride but... Seconds can count.

Hopefully the driver gets convicted of Vehicular Manslaughter, and whatever maximum sentence penalty it garners.  :ireful:

Judging by the look of the truck front end, it's doubtful the driver even attempted to slow for the stop sign.

Always be mindful of what's in your mirrors!
I ride with this in my mind at ALL times............
I can control what's in front of me...........It's up to dumb-luck that the traffic behind me are doing what they are supposed to. :unknown:

I ALWAYS come to a stop with left foot down, bike in 1st gear, hands on both bars, ready to make a move if I have to.
Too bad for the guy's life, and his family.  :sorry:

I pulled up at a set of red lights last week and ...BAM!!!...rear ended by some guy in an Acura. As luck would have it, I was in my Trailblazer with the tow hitch still in place!! I got out and had a look at my rear end, thankfully, no damage. The Acura's number plate was split as was his bumper, right down the middle. Shook hands with the driver and bad him a safe journey. As I drove away, I was thankful that I was in my truck...and not on my FJ.

X2. I never take the bike out of gear at a stop and my eyes are always checking the mirror. Don't forget to leave yourself room to make your escape if things look bad behind you.

This has become one of my paranoid issues.  :nea:

After my rear end incident last year, I have added a double LED light license plate frame from Cycle gear. I also just installed a Tail light flasher module yesterday. I will post more about it over in the modifications section.

Now we know why you bought the V-MAX.
If Kansas allowed lane splitting, you could have been up front and your troubles would have been behind you.   :bomb: (popcorn)

Mate, same here, just last week I had some knob reverse into me in a carpark  :unknown:. Had the tow bar on only for that day. No damage to me but they're pretty bent!
