Hi, FJ folks.......
I'm FjLee..........aka Lee Carkenord. I live in Denver , Colorado.
I ride an 84 FJ1100 that I bought slightly used in 1984. It only had 900 miles on it.
I've been to a few of the FJ Rallies over the years........out in California, at Boone, and a couple in between. Therefore, I know some of you FJ'ers. Good guys, one and all.
Since it's been a while since I have been active on any of the FJ Internet Groups, I'm sure there are many of you whom I don't know.
Anyway, I'm looking forward to meeting more of you, and getting to know my way around Marsh's FJ website.
After I look around here a bit, I'll be posting a couple of maintenance/repair/tech questions.
I'm quite sure the FJ collective will have a wealth of helpful input.
Tnx for listening..........

Welcome Lee, looking forward to seeing your posts. Maybe I can make the Colorado rally next year and get a chance to meet you.
Welcome Lee--happy to have another 84 owner on here. The 84 model is the best year. Of course I am slightly prejudiced. Dave
Welcome back Lee. I always wondered what happened to you...
Doesn't your FJ have something like 200K+ miles on it?
Do tell, it's pretty damn inspirational.
Dan
Welcome Back as well Lee, :hi:
I remember you from the old yahoo site .
Some of the old gang are still around but don't post much, others are still active .
Look forward to hearing what you have been up to. :drinks:
Welcome home brother Lee.

Welcome back Lee ! That is a nice photo that Pat posted :). There is going to be a rally up in the Black Hills in June Lee. Be great to meet you. If not there then perhaps on the road somewhere.
George
Welcome Lee. Reading that you've put over 200 k on your FJ reinforces my want of never getting rid of mine. This site has made that possible for me so far!
Mark Martin
Welcome Lee! As George said, Black hills rally in June. It would be great to talk to you again!

Shit, I think his bike had 200k back in '05 when our paths crossed in Gunnison CO.
Welcome to the group Lee!
In case you got nothing going on early June:

Welcome back, Lee! It's great to see another familiar face - you've been missed.
Welcome to the forum, :hi:
Every so often your name has been mentioned with the wealth of knowledge that you posses on all things FJ.
I also will be at the Central Black Hills rally.

Yes, I took that pic...
Good to see you here, Lee!
G'Day Lee!
Been a while since we last met, was that at the original "Run To The Drum" rally?
Looks like T-Roy is taking care of that damned thing now,,,
That's always been one of my favorite Rally pics. I think that was my first Rally, too. :good2:

Nah, that was at Boone.
I'm really glad Dean and TRoy showed up in Indy to pick up that damned drum... the 'honor' of being its keeper got a bit old after a few years. :good:
It's a giant pain in the arse, clunky big thing, where you going to put it?
That was the whole point of it, the sheer impracticality of lugging it to a motorcycle rally then some poor slob getting stuck with it,,,,

Hi Dan........
Nice to hear from you.
Yeah, my FJ has been real good to me. It's had batteries that conked out, and it's had flats.....often in the middle of "nowhere"........
But it's never had a directly related "Yamaha FJ" problem that's left me stranded.
.......and that's over the course of about 216,000 miles.
Heck..........my last NEW truck, a Ford F-250 4X4 Super Duty......left me stranded 4 times before it had 10,000 miles on the odo.
Which causes me to sometimes utter the caustic phrase....."If Ford built a motorcycle, it'd be called a Harley!"....
Hope to see you around sometime soon........
FjLee 1984 FJ1100 Denver CO
Lee,
You've never had the honor of MG ownership have you?
Those little cars are KNOWN for their ultra-reliability! :wacko3:
Steve
...... left me stranded 4 times
Maybe, you need to put more then $5.00 of gas in it!!

Just what are you trying to say Lee? :sarcastic:

Could be just coincidence, but this truck has a lot wrong with it.. :unknown:

Yup, Lee still looks the same.
The shirt has aged a little, but HE hasn't. I need to figure out how he does it. :pardon:
Must be the bike...............

Wow, George/Movenon
I assume you snapped that photo that you posted of the FJ1100 while at
the Central Rally........
That's some good photography, IMO......it sure flatters my FJ!!
......yet hides the warts!!!
Good work......and "Thank you" so much for that.
FjLee 84 FJ1100 Denver CO
Thanks Lee, but your FJ has no "warts" my friend. Anyone that can put 200,000 +- miles on one bike and keep it looking like that is a gigantic testament to the character, pride of ownership and skills. Hats off to you my Friend :good2:. Its a beautiful bike.
Yes that picture was in taken at the rally in the Black Hills. :drinks:
George
Yep, what George said, and no Lee, your bike is not worn out.....many fine adventures are left in store for you and your FJ.
It was a pleasure having you stay with me in the Black Hills.
