Well that just sucks. I was following their progress in the WSBK series, and with the new rule changes was hoping to see them advance from an R&D program to being more competitive.
It's a sad statement that he had to go to India for financing the company. To design, manufacture, race and sell leading edge technology like he was doing requires so much commitment from everyone involved. Whatever happened to supporting innovation and creativity in N.A.? I guess it all got sucked down that black hole called Wall Street. Is America doomed to continue flogging lumbering Vtwin behemoths?
It's not just the closing of a bike shop. It's the loss of all that knowledge and expertise. Yes the top guys will probably find jobs elsewhere (maybe even resurrect this one in some fashion). Creating these small kernels of innovation are the backbone of all economies. The training of personnel and the eventual overflow of that into the community is worth a thousand GE's.
If he wants to still pursue this dream, it looks like he'll have to physically move everything to India or China. Now I wouldn't be surprised if the financing was pulled because the financiers in India wanted a piece of that technology, and maybe he refused? But that would be just another conspiracy theory. :flag_of_truce:
