Title: fairing year???

Might be silly question but can anyone tell what year fj some fairings come off just from a couple of pictures???

Colour scheme will tell you if its still original paint.
Inner fairing panels will help if still with the fairing.
Otherwise, 84-85 generally the same.
86-90 generally the same.
91-93 generally the same.

I may have missed some change somewhere in the middle of 86-90?

There are 4 major fairing changes over the years.

1984-1985

1986-1987

1988-1990

1991-1996

Within each group will interchange. They do not interchange easily from group to group. The forward sub-frames, fairing, inner plastic shrouds, and associated parts are all different.
Example..... 1989 turn signal lenses will not fit on a 1991 or a 1986

Glad I asked and didn't just take a gamble on buying some fairings. ill ask the question will these be a straight swap onto a 89?

If that is the original paint then yes, looks like the Theft deterrent Silver and White of an '89. Good color for an FJ...
