Title: Installed valves
Post by: movenon on March 30, 2015, 11:29:03 PM
Got the valves installed and well on the way to adjustment. Did an informal leak test. In the picture each chamber is filled with "Wizard Fuel" and no leaks so looks good.  Not the same as being under compression but encouraging.  Adjusting the valves with the head on the bench sure is a heck of lot easier.  Off to Yamaha tomorrow to exchange 2 shims. Adjusting all the valves to the loose side.

Here is a piece of triva. There are two different versions of the FJ 1200 head gasket. Here is a picture of both. The top one with the embossed ridges is the newest one.  You will see the older Yamaha flat discontinued ones on e bay so heads up if you ever buy one.

I wonder if that's what Frank uses, and why his FJ is so fast?  :scratch_one-s_head:
