Once again, Randy at RPM has come through with the goodies :yahoo:
One of the early upgrades that I did to my '85 FJ1100 was to purchase and install an RPM spin on/off oil filter adapter kit...An easy, quick, inexpensive, very worth while addition. It makes for easy, clean, inexpensive oil filter changes
Fast forward to March 2015 and I have acquired a '92 FJ1200...which now awaits pick up from Paul in Napanee. When I get her home, I have another RPM spin on/off oil filter adapter kit ready and waiting for installation :good2:
Double thumbs up to Randy and his crew... :good2:
John.
Geez how many fjs does a guy need?
I think Tiger has two and you have three, so..... The correct number is N+1, where N is the current number you already own. It also seems to me that you are always trolling Kijiji like the rest of us so, that number of yours will change too. Just wait.....

Steve in FL, you want to take this one? (popcorn) (popcorn) (popcorn)
Spares! It's all about SPARES!
Ever step out for a ride, and the tire's flat? It's good to have a spare.
Try to start the bike, and it won't start. Good to have a spare.
Friend from out-of-state visiting? Good to have a spare. (bike)
Can't decide between a 3CV and a 3XW? Have one of each!
Misplaced your favourite bike? Good to have a spare.
Need? No one NEEDS any. Want? That's an entirely different thing.
Steve

I have spares but how the %&@# does one insure them both without selling the farm up here! Would be a dream for me have two or more bikes insured.
What Steve said. I have 4 1. 86 fj1350r (muscle bike) 2. 89 2up touring 3.86 soon to be turbo bike (because 163hp isn't enough) 4. 87 crashed with 865 miles on it for parts. Have to find a reason for no 5 .....maybe not.
Oh yah I now have a third rpm spin on for the turbo bike.
I am convinced one can not have too many FJs. The limiting factor on the number of FJs, the wife. I am hoping the central rally changes this. She is excited about going to South Dakota.
Yes Randy's oil filter adapter is a great mod!

Keep all of your bikes the same color and the missus will think you're taking the one bike out of the garage, as long as she never goes in there.
Worked for someone I know who had all yellow RC planes, about 15 of them.

 GREAT idea! Wish I had thought of it. Dave
My daughter was looking in the garage and asked my wife'" How many bikes does dad have?". " Who knows", she answered.
That was like saying "Go get another!". Which I did. A GTS 1000. 93. Now I need a bigger shop.
Sorry but I'm done at 3 fjs.

We have another FJowner with a GTS 1000, not as active but here in SoCal.... Not me...
Since this started out about spin on oil filters. I will mention that the GTS comes with a spin on filter.

Nice. My mate who lives across the road has had a red '93 GTS since new, only 20 were sold in Australia. He has had some ABS issues, the fuel injection is nice, is a little heavy to ride I think compared to the FJ. The engine is a slighltly detuned FZR1000 unit, so it still has plenty of get up and go, thats for sure. :good2:

I was at Vintage Motorcylces last weekend and they had 2 for sale (imports I would imagine, that's what they do). I've always had a strange fascination for them, perhaps their rarity here accounts for much of that desireablility, who knows.
Anyway, the lesser of the two, was $14,000, in good condition with modest mileage. I didn't like it
that much.
They also sold the Bimota to the guy that had just bought one and was on here recently.
Noel
Isnt that crazy?? They sold new for $22000.00, and Neville picked his up for just on $20000.00. Normal private sale price listings I think are around the 5-6 thousand mark, but hey, if someone will pay 14 thou........... :wacko2:
I picked mine up in December. I kept an eye on the ad for a long time. Just waited patiently til I knew the guy was sick of waiting. He wanted $6500, but I got it all for $5000. It is originally from Texas. The rear shock is pooched, however the seller threw in a spare. It came with the factory Krauser bags, spare catalytic converter, tail pipe, three mirrors ,front fender, coils, spare damaged fairing etc. It needs chain , sprockets and tires. I took it home, filled up the tank, hooked up the battery tender and covered it up in the garage. I will post some pics when it is safe to take it out of the garage. I also have a very cool almost mint FZR 1000 which has the same motor, but puts out 135 hp to the GTS's 100. I won't do anything with it until a few other projects are taken care of. Maybe a motor swap?
