Title: Long Weekend and a Busted Throttle Cable!

Had a great weekend selling freshly roasted, ground and brewed coffee at this swap meet outside Daytona:

Weather was mildly crappy, so coffee sales were up. Yay me.

Hopped on the bike (`92 ABS) yesterday to assist my Mom with her new car acquisition. Partway there, I rolled on the throttle, felt a <"tink">, and realized the pull cable had snapped.

Coasted onto a residential street, removed seat, side panels, flipped tank around, and got to work swapping cables. As I had suspected, the ancient stranded cable gave way right at the ferrule in the grip assembly.

The throttle cables on the `92 are separate, and the spring action of the carbs is enough to close them when you let off the throttle. I simply replaced the "pull" cable with the "push" cable.

It wasn't a perfect fit, but worked well enough to get me to Mom's house, then back home. Mission Accomplished!

New part has been ordered.

BTW, it's now Bike Week in Central Florida. If you're coming down, watch for the idiots. And don't be one. Please.

That's the news. Now for the weather...
