Title: If your number's up,.........
Post by: ribbert on February 17, 2015, 04:03:14 AM
This happened around Christmas time on a road I frequently travel and is not far from home.

(Some say it was the wash from an FJ that had just passed through that caused it)

Pissweak Victorian trees... You don't see Queensland trees fall over like that in a sea breeze.

That's because sugar cane only grows 3 metres high.

That first tree falling likely saved the person filming. I wonder if any trees fell behind the first. :scratch_one-s_head:

What isn't shown....is the changing of his shorts while waiting for the Highway Department to clear the trees.  :shok:

Pretty awesome video,     A long time ago a local council member was on his way home to Gympie from a meeting at Noosa.
A tree fell on his car and killed him. Being night time he wouldn't have known what hit him..

As Harvy mentioned we might have to batten down the hatches over the next day or so here.
A quick ride is in order i think..

Queeensland trees only do that when the drop bear is angry!

The timing reminds me of feb/march 2009 when Cyclone Hamish was heading into Bundy at the same time I was paddling that direction in the Mary River. http://www.bom.gov.au/cyclone/history/hamish09.shtml (http://www.bom.gov.au/cyclone/history/hamish09.shtml)

Didn`t see one tree fall over, but Mary`s loins were beginning to spasm and she swelled over a metre during the half hour negotiating of her Barrage wall, just north of Tairo. (Eventually climaxing at 12 metres!).
Like me, that water was heading to Maryborough where I thanked him personally for helping me and a mate complete the little adventure.  A happy chappy, the drop bear was with me all the way!

But there is a positive....     :drinks:
