I have taken the FJ sown for some much needed maintenance.
1. Fork Seals
2. Left turn signal gremlin (indicator light always on)
3. Turn signals not working properly after '91 Switch assembly swap
4. Re-paint the lower Cowling
5. Powder Coat the Vibranators, Grab Rails, Foot Peg Brackets
6. Install the Clear Clutch cover
7. Install the Vance & Hines Power Pack
8. Install Barnett Clutch
9. Install Volt Meter.
I am sure there will be some other things that will get attention.
We want some pics of that clear clutch cover after its done. You don't need that Vance and Hines power pack. You have enough power already! I'm tired of looking at the rear end of your bike. Dave
That's about four day's worth of work. You'll be riding by next weekend :good2:
Fred,
I always thought that you had a very nice FJ. Other than the electrical gremlins and the fork seals, she's in fine shape. I'm not even that fussy. :good2:
The 9th item is complete.

Looking like we have a new Red Power Ranger...
That's my favorite temperature... :good2:
Good time of the year to get it done Fred. I like your gauges. In the same boat here. Trying to get the compression back up... As you alluded to, one thing leeds to another :dash2:.

It will be awhile before I can do a road test. I did start the bike and noticed a HUGE difference in the starting. Push the starter button and it starts RIGHT NOW, absolutely no hesitation.
I set it up for performance range 2 and rev-limit range 1
Thanks Fred. My Bike came with Powerpak installed but I had no idea as to its settings. Your post with settings will help me a lot.

Pull the cover off and the settings are labeled on the underside of the cover.
Fres
I meant the fact that your post that had a diagram with dipswitch settings will help me a lot. Now I have got to way a couple more months to try it out.
Fred, I recall reading about the V&H powerpack product many years ago....
Let's just say, I would keep my oem ignition box handy if I were you...keep it in your tail cowl.
Let us know how it works out for you.
Fred,
Thanks for posting that! Now I won't feel bad about opening mine up and seeing what the switches are set to.
Joe
Hurry up, Mon!
The Rally's almost here!!!
Steve :drinks:

I would try to come up with some type of a isolation mount, to keep the bad vibes from doing bad things -
Looking forward to hearing how this works out for you!

Good idea.. :good2: I may get some hard rubber washers from Ace Hardware and place them between the Powerpak and the frame.

Hi is this power pak fj specific ? :)
Yes, The PowerPak that I have is specific for 1988-1996 FJ1200's.
Fred
I am also working on getting one of these fairings ordered. If all goes as planned, I will place the order on the 19th of Feb. and hopefully have it by the middle of March. My plan is to have this on the FJ for the Central Rally.

Tick tick tick....

Yes Pat,
The fairing comes from France. I have a fellow FJ owner in England giving me some assistance with making this happen.
The difficult part is the company only takes orders by phone or snail mail.

Make sure you post up your FJ with it when you get it installed. This way we know exactly when to revoke your "Man card". :sarcastic:

Starting to get parts in and back from being powder coating.

I have decided against getting the above fairing. If and when the company makes it easier to order, I may think about it again.
I bought new color matched luggage instead.

Good looking bags. Post a pic of them after you get them mounted. Also one of the back of your bike with the bags. That's probably the view I'll see the most of. Dave
Congrats on the bags. Sorry things didn't work out on the fairing.
Kurt
The FJ is getting back in shape. The rear end is complete, including the hugger fender trimming that I followed FJmonkey's pattern. The footpeg brackets got powder coated. The new HID headlight is in. My old HID kit was a single bulb, with no high beam. I had an issue with my key falling out while riding and almost losing my keys. Installed the RPM tubular key switch.
Lookin good! :good2:
The Silver Bullet us lookin good Fred :good:
The Silver Bullet is once again alive. 90% complete and the Carbon Fiber Hydro Dipped parts came out incredible. Still have to do some fiber glass repair and then repaint the Lockhart lower cowling. I did paint the saddle bag panels Silky white and used OEM Red for the stripe.
Wow, Fred looking good.
