Can anybody tell me where this white plug goes to? It is right next to the fuel pump.

My guess is that it goes to an electric vest OR is possibly used for a battery charger.
Have you tried to measure if it has 12V from the 2 pins with the ignition both ON & OFF ?
Cheers,
Arnie

Nowhere. Honestly. It came that way stock. We had this discussion many years ago on the Yahoo forum - someone did figure out why it was there....but I don't remember. Bottom line - it's just there - you are NOT missing anything.
Most odd. Never get those kinda things on 86s.
I think you're supposed to put a jumper wire there when you're chaning the muffler bearing...
Cal. smog. Itwascheeper to put it in all the harnesses than to make spechial ones.
Nice photo. It solved a question I had about a mystery bracket. I see the lug holds your suspension thingy. My Fox reservoir sits elsewhere.
Heck that's clean/new engine.
Would the electrical schematics show it up????????? $0.02
The 86/87s have a smaller plug, I think its brown, in the same location, for CA smog stuff. Since the hot side is switched, I used it to power the relay for my hot grips.
Is that the same as a green connector on an 86? Mine is now used to power my gps. Thankyou Yamaha for providing that for me... :good2:
Cheers....Jake

I asked this question back in May of 2007 on the Yahoo Forum.
I didn't waste a lot of time on it, thankfully. Too many other jobs that are more fun. Finding it on the schematic wasn't informative but it was there. May as well use it for gps, grips or a heated sock for my wiener.

Yeah, now that I think about it, it is green, not brown.
