Title: chain size
Post by: fjfool on January 25, 2015, 06:52:46 AM
hola,
getting my wheel mod going here,
i am using a '99 YZF rear wheel- Yamaha parts site says it is a 530 chain
the parts site is not clear on the size of a stock '86 FJ chain
i need to buy sprockets and a chain, i am assuming that a 530 110 link should do it
really i am clueless here, any info would be appreciated
thanks,
eric

It's a 530. I just bought one of these EK chains, that is the replacement for the much-touted EK ZZZ

http://www.powersportparts.net/SearchResults.asp?Search=693-2220 (http://www.powersportparts.net/SearchResults.asp?Search=693-2220) The chain has a 120 link length, so there's extra if needed for your application.

And one of these trick screw-type masterlinks for it. http://www.powersportparts.net/SearchResults.asp?Search=693-2201 (http://www.powersportparts.net/SearchResults.asp?Search=693-2201) No need forspecial tool to install it.

Total cost (delivered here in the US): $156.50  :good2:

I don't recall who here turned me onto the company http://www.powersportparts.net/Default.asp (http://www.powersportparts.net/Default.asp) that I purchased the above from, but I would like to thank them here. It's a good place to source from.

Yes, there is one in the box with the chain.
