Hello Everyone!
Just purchased a nice Black with red stripes 1988 Yamaha FJ1200. Love the bike! I'm an American but living in Western Hungary for work. I have a Harley Sportster back home but decided to try a sport touring bike here in Europe.
Anyone else near by?
Have a great day!
Chris
Welcome to the forum. Lots of good people with good info around this campfire. Nice to have a fellow Harley rider on here. Find myself riding the FJ more than the Harley-- way more fun. Hope you enjoy your FJ. Dave
Thanks for the welcome TexasDave! The FJ has been a blast so far (much faster than my Sportster) :)
I do sometimes miss the laid back cruising riding position and the luggage rack on the back, but the FJ is growing on me allot and my coworkers in Hungary mostly have sport bikes.
PS: Here is a picture my newly washed FJ and one of my Sportster (which is in storage in Washington).
A pair of great looking bikes.Thank you for the pics. You have the best of both types. Just my opinion of course. Dave
Welcome Chris! We're familiar with your 88 here...she looks great, glad she went to a good home! Your buddy Mark is a hell of a guy and a much respected member. Be carefull and ride safe Cheers! :drinks: Charley.
Welcome Chris ! The FJ is a fun and easy ride. Handles good and has all the power you need. It is the best all around bike that I have ever owned. Feel free to ask questions or jump in anytime. Not much you can come up with pertaining to the FJ that someone here can't help you with. It was sold world wide so there is has a large following. I would say that most of us do our own maintenance or at least have a good understanding of the bike.
Ride safe Chris.
George
