While I was going through some old VCR tapes, I ran across this video I had copied from the dealer I bought my FJ1100 from in 1984. I copied it to DVD and loaded it on my computer. The video quality is poor but it is still an awesome video. Enjoy!
Wouldn't download. You might want to check it out.
worked for me, but it cut off early. great video before it ended tho.

Time to put my knee sliders back on...
Cool video. Thanks for sharing.
Finally saw the whole clip. Awesome video, almost makes me wonder how the hell they ever improved on it in the coming years.
It was a pretty cool promo, but it kinda bothers me.
Not once, in the whole thing, did Roberts and Lawson ever specifically mention the FJ. They talked about the track, about technique, about the power characteristics they'd want in certain sections, benefits of a 16" front, but not about the FJ in particular. They didn't even show them standing by one, and I'm pretty sure that's not either of them actually mounted on the bike in motion. Granted, it's a commercial...some marketing drone stuck the KR\Eddie footage together with a sales pitch that made it seem like they were talking about the FJ.
Doesn't really matter - it just irks me.
Thanks for sharing. Cool video. I miss the '80s. I do . . .
Great video
I like it --- Garth -- this is a must play at this years WCR---good opening

Just saw this bit'o'nostaligia. Reminded me of this video of Eddie Lawson at Eastern Creek qualifying on the Cagiva in '91. A lesson in one fingered braking, which I don't think was/is possible on an FJ.... but then again I haven't tried that one yet.

It's very possible with 320mm rotors, blue spots and 14mm nissen m/c.

I'm one fingering the '84 with SS lines and EBC HH pads in front.. It may have a different m/c, whatever was Yamaha's replacement a few years back. Its not the 320/blue spot experience like Wizard, but it isn't bad.

Mine is a porkier '92 with ABS. I Have SS lines on the front,(from the PO's), OEM calipers & pads with the aftermarket Chinese scalloped discs (stock dia.). Don't know how effective the SS lines are when the rest of the plumbing is still rubber. Something one day I should address by disassembling it and replacing all the rubber. I've seen some posts where they have disconnected the ABS as it didn't work anymore. Mine seems to work fine so far.
Anyhow, I learned something new again today. Maybe I'll practice this summer. In an empty parking lot.
