Title: Spent 2 hours removing

gasket goo off my valve cover and gasket in preparation for doing my shims next weekend. Thanks to ken for the generous loan of his valve adjusting tool and shim kit

Don't you just hate it when the PO uses that stuff.
Not sure what anyone else does, but I use a dot of RTV every few inches to hold the gasket in place (in the cover)when refitting.
This may not be an issue if using a new gasket though, mine is the one it left the factory with.

Yamaha wants a LITTLE yamabond 4 on he can buttons only. If you need to hold it in place use a grease.
