Current factory scheme (except the wheels)

I like the grayscales and matte finishes lately

Maybe with wheel stripes...

Looks like your tank could use some Dent-B-Gone.
I have one, too. About the size of my knee. (Just ask Pat Conlon. He got to see it appear! :dash2: )
As for your paint ideas, they look interesting. I think I like the first one the best.

Yeah, I think the PO dropped it on it's side and gave it the dimple. hasn't slowed her down one bit!
I like #1 as well. The stripes are a little much. I'm also thinking of a reflective clear stripe on the wheels. I like the visibility for dark riding. I like the dark matte paint scheme, but I don't wanna disappear after dark.
BTW, I'm building a Paint Shop Pro 9 layered file with layers for wheels, and the different colors. I'll put it on the file section if anyone wants it.

I did something similar a while back with a Photoshop file: http://www.fjowners.com/index.php?topic=8448.0 (http://www.fjowners.com/index.php?topic=8448.0)
Yes, please post yours, too.

Quite by chance, if that's Paul's old bike, then Pat got to see how that one got dented as well.
Andy
LOL, I bought the bike in 2007 down in San Diego. Who Knows?
I think the second one looks pretty bad-ass...yet tasteful.
Paint it Red , with black stripes or Black with red stripes kinda like a 88 fj.
Sorry i am partial to red it just jumps out at you like a hot rod.

You know, the more I look at it next to the first one, the better I like it. Easier to do as well, just leave the silver where it is and mask it off to spray the black.
Two words: RED... WHITE...

I think Yamaha made that color scheme so they could sell more bikes in the Canadian market. Dave

Of the photos shown, I like this the best. I like the dark front wheel with the dark color of the fairing. Then color match the rear wheel with the silver. Or....... Like Derek said......Red and White... :yahoo:
Fred
Sorry boys, no Red, nor White for me. I'm thinking of a metallic graphite or anthracite or other dark shade to replace the Violet.
Fred, not so sure about matching the rear with silver.

Come now...we're an egalitarian, accepting sort. If a fellow FJOC member wants a different paint scheme, who are we to judge? Allow for differences. Openly accept those with lesser tastes. I may be slightly biased, myself, but then again...
I ride an Ambulance. So I'm above that petty sort of thing.

Thanks... I think. :)
I have been trying to buy one of these for the last 6 mths, after missing a couple by trying to steal them, this one came up in the colour I wanted, only one I had seen, so I committed to buy at the sticker price - only to miss it by 30 mins.
Anyway, my point is, this two tone browny grey, black and silver in matt looks awesome, I love it, very similar to the colours you picked.

Looks awesome, Noel. I'm not sure why I gravitate to that grayscale palette. It's just very clean and sharp. One thing I noticed on mine was that the decals contain a third blue hue that I painted over in the modified pics. Not sure if it would work better to just cut that portion off or actually paint over the decal.
Hold the wheel stripes.

Yeah, way too busy, and ricer. I'm pretty sure I'm going with the second pic in my first post. The silver Yamaha paint is still available, and I gotta look through the codes for a good dark charcoal or graphite shade.
