Last week I found out there is a 1st North American Expeditionary Force after seeing this report on the news

So far only a few have gone over, but no doubt it may grow to many more. If you know anybody that would have an interest in this, you may want to show this to them. Or you may want to make sure they don't see it.
Our federal government mentiond that anyone going there risks being banned from returning if they associate with Peshmerga individuals involved with known terrorists organizations (i.e. PKK). Funny, they just mentioned last month they are monitoring about 80 individuals that they know who came back from fighting in Syria. They didn't seem to have any problem re entering the country... :scratch_one-s_head:
Don't think we've seen anything like this since the Spanish civil war in the '30s.
I read that on the weekend. I think a lot of people have a misconception about foreign forces in a mercenary role (Thanks Hollywood - except my fave will always be The Wild Geese.)
Mercenaries in the general sense become part of the general forces. They are not an elite fighting unit to themselves. That is what contract firms do, not your average mercenary. They have to comply with the rules and tactics of the army they join, no special privileges. You f' up, you face the same treatment as their other enlisted men. That's the other thing, you don't get to be an officer because you're white or a veteran or were a captain in some other army.
The article is correct, the tactics there suck and you'll have to go along with it. No Rambo stealth and solo bravado. I think a properly trained Cdn. veteran would get frustrated pretty soon with their contribution, plus the bleak prospect of being left to bleed or be captured while the other guys run for their lives.
:hi: THIS is how you combat ISIS...
