Title: Trailer and Bikes Stolen in Oklahoma City
Post by: fj1289 on December 08, 2009, 06:53:53 PM
ALL:Just discovered my 6x12 enclosed trailer, 89 FJ1200 and 85 FJ1100 stolen from my hotel parking lot in Oklahoma City.  Police report filed.

Pic of the 89 FJ1200 in gallery:

Also stolen 84 FJ1100 being built as a dragbike.  Had FZ1000 swingarm modified with 0-6" extensions by Hardcore Cycles and internally lowered R1 front forks.

Neither bike had the engine installed, but in the trailer were the engine cases, undercut transmission, stock and lightend crankshaft, 39mm FCR carbs, Wilburs shock, Elka drag shock, etc.

Thanks in advance for watching out for the bikes or parts.

More thorough descriptions to follow.

Thanks,

Hopefully they will think they got a bunch of junk and just ditch it all somewhere...

Any identifying marks on the trailer?
What Brand Trailer?
What color?
Tag number?
etc.

Thanks guys.

The trailer is a well used Pace Work/Sport (sold at Home Depot).  FL tag E006NR.  Doubt that will still be on there.  I've driven around here a little bit, but it is only a block off I-40 - lots of escape options.

I just got here last night for a two week long training course.  Left at 7:15 in a freezing drizzle.  By 2:00, the hotel maintnance had noticed it was gone but my chocks and block were still there.  I got back about 6:00 and immediately thought the day shift had it towed despite the night shift giving me permission to park it sideways in the lot. They cut the lock off the tongue latch - found it laying in the parking lot too.

I'm working on a list of all the stuff I had in there.  It's been a lot of years slowly collecting parts to complete these builds, including a lot of parts not made anymore.

Not only that -- a few 45 rounds would be a lot cheaper than a trial too!  I don't have a lot of faith though that things will turn out even that good.  Here's another description I've posted on dragbike.com and psychobike.com too.  Also cross posted over to Yahoo too.

Had my 6 x 12 enclosed trailer stolen today from my hotel in Oklahoma City.

Trailer is a white 6 x 12 Pace single axle - about 5 years old or so. FL tagE006NR. Several motorsports and military related stickers on both sides and rear ramp.

1989 Yamaha FJ1200 VIN JYA3SKC02KA008172- lots of mods: R1 front forks, FZ1000 swingarm, PM Chicane rims and brakes, Innovate Motorsports LC-1 and DL-32, Kehein FCR carbs, Wilbur shock, MPS air shifter, quick access clutch cover, corbin seat. Painted flat black with FL tag 02010I.

1984 Yamaha FJ1100 - being built as a dragbike. Internally lowered R1 forks, FZ1000 swingarm with Hardcore cycles 0-6" stretch, R1 rear rim with new Pirelli, 16" FJ1100 front rim with K330, Elka drag shock (Hayabusa model modded to fit).

A box of dyna products: 2 Dyna 4000 pro (one high limit, one low), shift minder, shift counter (older 5 gear style), new in box crank trigger for FJ1200.

Tools and spare engine parts.

Police report filed - holla if you see any of this stuff please!  Trailer appears to have been a target of opportunity - I had not talked to anyone here about what was in the trailer nor had even opened it up since leaving New Mexico.

Chris, Dude...suckage!  If the engines were out of the frame on both bikes, why were you transporting them?  Were you moving them somewhere?

I remember admiring that 89 and all of the work done on it...and I've always been a fan of flat black done right!   :good2:

Does the AMA still post a list of stolen bikes in their magazine/website?

Marsh,

I figured I'd do something constructive with my free time during this two week training course.  Intended to assemble the FJ1200 engine and get in back in the frame, and work on getting the drag bike chassis set up and mods done.

I should have just planned to spend my time in the strip bars or something!!!!

Dude,
What can I say?  :nea:
Hopefully they'll be stupid enough to post videos of themselves on YouTube riding around outside their homes with a street sign in plain view.  :diablo:
Title: UPDATE Re: Trailer and Bikes Stolen in Oklahoma City
Post by: fj1289 on December 10, 2009, 06:37:50 PM
The two bikes were dumped on the side of the road.  $300 later (for "towing and impound fees" - talk about a raw deal!  ) I've got them back.  I've been told no signs of the trailer nor the contents.  Getting ready to head out to where the bikes were dumped to see if any of the parts or tools are there too.  They look to be in fairly good shape - only a couple of things bent.  It looks like they were in a hurry - just cut the straps, rolled them off and let them fall.

Updates later.

What a "Welcome to OK, OK. :-( sigh.
Now, you'll have to figure out how to get them home again.
Best wishes for a reasonable conclusion to this nigntmare.

Cheers,
Arnie

That sucks. See that alot with enclosed trailers. "People" take the chance that its a contractors trailer and will be full of tools to sell quick. I'm glad you at least got something back.

Glad you at least got the chassis back!

Now to hope they assume the parts are "just old shit" and dump them also.  The tools and trailer though... likely gone, unfortunately.
