Title: 26 Year Old Marine Corpsman Battling Cancer.
Post by: CatTomb on November 13, 2014, 10:20:54 AM
Hey Guys,

A friend of my daughter's is battling melanoma and could use some help. In 5th grade, Ryan wrote Sharlyn her first love letter.  :mail1:

She showed it to me and I immediately read it aloud to my friends, which, apparently, totally embarrassed her.   :pardon:

Here is his story:

Hello,
My name is Ryan and I'm battling cancer, melanoma specifically. Earlier this year I was diagnosed with Stage 3B melanoma. I celebrated my 26th birthday this last August by being told I had been accepted into an experimental drug trial as there is little to no effective treatment options for my current diagnosis.
I'm a pretty tough guy or at least that's what my jazzercize coach tells me (joke) but my current medication has been somewhat debilitating at times.  Since my diagnosis my multiple surgeries/treatments have left me unable to go to school and use my GI bill or work. I plan on going back to school asap but in the meantime I could use some financial help in regards to medical bills and random living expenses.

I've heard that melanoma can be a tough battle but given that fact I don't believe this will be new territory for me. I was a Corpsman for 5+ years and for majority of that time I took care of Marines on and off the battlefield. Anything helps and thanks for reading.

I gave and hope you will too. http://www.gofundme.com/f66jn4?fb_action_ids=10152511300491483&fb_action_types=og.shares (http://www.gofundme.com/f66jn4?fb_action_ids=10152511300491483&fb_action_types=og.shares)

Thank you in advance and additional thanks to my dad and every other soul who has given his time or life in the service of others,

Jeff
