Title: FJR1300 Grips Work?
Post by: motohorseman on November 09, 2014, 04:46:32 PM
Does anyone know if 5JW-26240-00 will fit the FJ series?

Specifically the 1989 FJ1200 in "theft resistant white"?

judging by an eyeball measurement from your picture, the id is 3/4"

I am not sure if our FJ bars are 3/4" or 7/8"?
I don't remember.. :scratch_one-s_head:

"Standard" bars are 7/8" (22mm).  "Fat"bars are 1" (think HD)
I would expect the thottle tube and grip to fit, but whether the spool is the right diameter, I have no idea.

Cheers,

According to Partzilla cross reference. The FJR throttle tube is only used on FJR's 2003-2010.

The photo you have shows a push/pull type cam. The only question I have is if the position of the cable lug holes are in the same location as the OEM FJ throttle tube cable lug holes.

Try removing the OEM throttle tube and install the FJR throttle tube. If it works, great, if not, nothing lost. I am sure someone would want them on eBay.

Thanks Fred, I'll give it a try this weekend.

Many thanks - and I'll report back
