I am wondering about a 2015 FJowners.com members calendar.
I have had one made for myself and wondering if there is any interest in members wanting one.
Here are a few months that are on my calendar.

Fred
G'day Fred, I'd be interested in one, but i prefer nice pictures of the bike being the main focus instead of background/ artistic type pictures.
I got this years Honda SOHC calender and was a bit disappointed with it, top quality materials etc but just to arty for me, the main
focus seemed to be the environment around the bike plus to many non-stock bikes. My tastes lean towards nicely preserved well detailed bikes
that resemble how it left the factory. It would be a big undertaking for somebody to achieve this as you'd need numbers and money up front as a few will pull
out when it cost more than they thought, the Honda calender gave little change from $30..
ken PS this is sort of the pics i like , bike focused..but most would find it boring.. it would be hard to please everybody....

If it has scantily clad, well-endowed women wearing two piece swimsuits in the pics with the FJs (or not), then count me in.
Fantastic idea Fred. I`ll check out the cost to do an Aussie one also. :good2:
Here are 4 more photos that I used

Sure Fred I'd take one. Being that mine are far from stock. I'm not going to be too picky.. If you can use different pics for individual ones you could put a picture of the persons own bike on the front. Or do they make large runs of the same?
Thanks for going to the trouble of offering this

Dan,
That is a good idea, I could put the individuals FJ on the cover
Fred
Great idea Fred. I am interested as well. It doesn't matter to me if they are original or not.
I am very hesitant to change the tune of your request BUT.... would you be open to others on the forum sending you their favorite FJ pic's? Then you pick what you think are the nicest ones, etc. Just a suggestion. I am interested either way. I would definitely order a few, good stocking stuffer for non member FJ owners!

Good thinking Doug, . A calender with our own bikes on it would be awesome.
Great idea Fred. I want one. That November picture looks surprisingly like my bike in Norther California. Dave
I will go ahead and have some made.
12 month is $28.50
18 month is $33.50
At this point shipping is for the U.S. only. I will check and see if the company will ship to Canada, Australia and the UK.
PM me and let me know if you want the 12 month or 18 month. And send me a photo of your FJ if you want it on the cover.
To make things easy Payment be PayPal would be great. My PayPal account is aviationfred@yahoo.com.
Fred
I don't want my ugly old FJ on the cover! I see it every day. I want Pat's beautiful bike on the cover and Dan's nicely modded 1350 for Miss January. Dave
love this idea if you ship to Canada I'm in

I am sure shipping to Canada won't be a big deal. If not the Canadian order could be sent to my US address. I can distribute them to the others interested.

what mirrors are do you have on your bike?
Thanks,

How about the owners that send pictures in include a full list of mods done to the bike as well, like engine, wheels, suspension, luggage, screens, etc.... that could be printed under or beside the photo so if people like the look of something they know what brand it is or what bike it came from.
Tony.

Tony,
Good suggestion and I believe it can be done. The hold up would be each member of the 12 or 18 month selection of FJ's would need to send me all the info.
Fred
Thats a great photo with the big orange bridge in the background.

Randy that would be interesting. I know I've forgotten some of the things I've done to the 86. Can't let the wife see it. Then she would have something to point at to say "You've spent way too much on your motorcycles! It's got to stop!" That's why I've worked 2800-3200 hours a year for the past 28 years. I've always been seriously afflicted with moditis disease :wacko2:

Thanks,
Jeff
Genuine OEM mirrors from a 1992 Honda CBR600F2... (PN 88110- and 88120-MAL-601ZA). They were a little expensive, but they work great and require only a very small enlargement of the mounting holes to fit. EMGO makes a very similar looking knock-off, but they were garbage with blurry, vibrating images and of no value beyond a helmet hanger.
Frank
Do you think the background is important?
As an example , this is a nicely composed pic, it tells a story,
(http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v338/1tinindian/Motorcycles/1_zps22969324.jpg)
This one does too,
(http://i859.photobucket.com/albums/ab154/firehawk068/Rally%20photos/2014%20WCR/IMG_2256_zpsd09aeaed.jpg)
But ugly ass boring backgrounds tend to detract from the subject rather than enhance it,
(http://i119.photobucket.com/albums/o145/aviationfred/1_11_10_09_3_12_48_2_zps5b120ea2.jpg)
Do you really want to look at a garage wall or a busted arse backyard full of weeds as a calender shot?
Perhaps Arnie Robbins could give us a few quick tips on composition?
You have nailed it there Klav, background adds a huge amount to any pic. :good2:
That first pic with Leon's bike is stunning, could look at it all day.

I too think the background makes the shot...I admire a good looking garage as much as the next guy, but a story-telling backdrop is more of "why we ride" as opposed to "where we park"...
OOOh, that's a beauty

and it wont work. the error message says some thing is missing I used aviationfred@yahoo.com.

I have been asked a few questions on how the photos are chosen/used for the calendar.
How are the FJs picked for each month? I picked photos that I thought would make a great calendar and cover FJ's from around the world.
Can you use the picture I put in the thread? Yes I can use the photo you posted
Can it be put in the calendar for the month of May? Yes, I can put your bike in any month you choose
Will all the FJs be members bikes that we will recognize? Yes, If you have been to any of the Rally's, or are a active member on the forum, you should recognize most of the FJ's used
All FJ's used in the calendar are members bikes.

Ummm, it's probably going to appeal to more people if you get another pic with less of a mundane background.
A garage,a dead, neglected lawn and a dusty hill just aren't terribly interesting for most people, maybe take the cargo net off the bike too.
The background should highlight the bike, not detract from it.

Who makes that lower fairing?
The full lowers were made by Lockhart Phillips. The part is no longer in production.
Fred
Yes I like this one

If this works much better picture of the 1350r and one of the 89
1350 is SWEET
What is the front fender on that 86???
Hey monkey. If you are talking about mine. It's the gsxr fender for the gsxr front end.
Thanks, Scotsman. Like I said she ain't perfect but she sure is fun. Still a work in progress. Hope to finnish her this winter. The 89 is pretty much done. Just some minor paint work and the relay for the coils.
Next big project is the turbo drag toy. Just for fun...
Oh yah, hey Fred. I'd like to order 3 new calendars. With all the cool new pics. And the better picture of the 1350r.
And the 89 thrown in there too.
Thanks again for doing this.

Wow!! That little guy can move... I guess its a power to weight ratio....
I got my FJ calendar yesterday :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo:, too bad I don't have an office to hang it in and make others envious. The quality is very nice, not some thin paper but good card stock. I think I got lucky and made the cover and March, talk about FJ porn.
Thanks Fred, awesome FJ goodies....
Would love to see the pics that were chosen for the calendar????

Got mine today, thanks Fred!

Now it's 3...
Catching up here Fred... sorry.
I got my calendar a few weeks back and love it. Wiz made it in there twice, so made me think the calendars must be custom for each of us? Anyway, I'll be using it daily :good2:
Thanks,
Frank

There is no specific set of photos. I currently have a file of 37 photos that I have used. Some of the photos have been used from what have been added in this thread.
Each calendar is different, as most that have ordered have specified that photos of their FJ's be added to the cover and a specific month.
Fred
Ah Haaa I see. I didn't realize they were custom, thanks for the info.
