Title: Hankerin' for a cruiser
Post by: Bminder on October 13, 2014, 07:44:58 PM
I've been test riding cruisers lately and I like them. Rode a couple Vrods, and a Honda VTX 1800.  Like the Vrods more.
Anyone have opinions on a good cruiser, something from 2003-2006 or so?
Anyone have experience with the Yamaha XV1700 Warrior? I see redline on the Warrior is only like 5000, similar to the VXT. The Vrod's was something like 9000. That motor felt more like my FJ's, haha.

Have you tried the Vmax?

It will pull the wings off of a Vrod....

A Dale Walker quick shifter, pipe and tune....and you are in the 10's all day long.

I should, and then go over to Hereford and up into Nebraska, and triple my states in one day!

Here's one outside of Philly for $6,999 -man claims a 'kit' can make it 240HP....  No affiliation.

I thought to myself....yea big deal, anyone can add a blower and get 240hp...... but this is a "all motor" mod....pretty impressive.

240 HP cruiser?

I'm not in the market for a cruiser but if I was the Indian looks cool to me and its 100 HP is quite adequate for the class.  "retro this Mr. SR400"

Of course it's priced over the used bike market you are looking at

An older V-Max is hard to beat for affordable arm stretching. It is one hell of a motor.

Just rode an '04 Yamaha XV1700 Warrior, it was sweet. Very sweet. Very Vrod like.
I might make him an offer.
