I am planning a ride to the Hill Country of Texas, the end of October. The weather here in Kansas during that time can be sketchy. The temps can be low 40's in the morning, or upper 70's in the afternoon.
I have always liked the Aero-Stitch touring suits, but could never justify spending the $700.00+ for one. I have been looking for an inexpensive alternative and I finally found a slightly used Joe Rocket Survivor touring suit for the right price.
I can't wait to try it out on a ride.

It fits fairly well.

With your nice looking suit and your haircut you might even be able to get a date with some gal. Hope to see you down here in October. Dave
I got a chance to ride with this suit today. Temp was 50*F this morning when I left. I did not put the liner in and just wore a t-shirt and a pair of shorts underneath. It was a very pleasant 100 mile ride to my destination. I spent a few hours catching up with a few friends and looked at all the bikes during the last Cassoday Bike Run of the year. The temps had risen to the mid 70's by the time I decided to make the 100 mile ride home. I rolled back the flaps that run from the waist to the neck and zipped the mesh attachment. Perfect amount of forced air to the chest for a pleasant ride back home.
With this being the first time I have used this suit. I give it 2 thumbs up for use with temps ranging from 50*F to 75*F :good2:

Another update on this riding suit.
The temp in Wichita this morning was 17*F/-8*C. I put the quilted liner in the suit and decided to ride to work this morning. My commute is not very long, but it gave me a good indication on how well it would keep me warm.
The suit works awesome :yahoo: A pair of blue jeans and a t-shirt was all that was worn underneath.
I know a lot of people swear by AeroStitch, but I am completely and thouroughly impressed with the quality and performance of this riding suit. :good2: :good:

Heated gloves? Grip heaters? Balaclava?
That is a good looking suit that seems very functional. And you got it used!
Glad it's working for you.

No heated gear, I have not done any long distance cold weather riding.
Very few people ride during the winter here. None of my regular riding partners anyway. :pardon: My riding over the winter months consists mostly of a 15 minute work commute and an occasional 30 to 100 mile ride on a weekend.
I do have a good Balaclava, I also use a Motoport neck gaiter. My gloves are the Joe Rocket Nitrogen model.
