Started on a full strip down of an 84 FJ1100 that looks like it hasn't been cleaned in 20 years.

Good luck. my 1200 was the same way a week and a half ago.

Excellent!  Are you going for a complete tear-down?  Trust me on this one...you will need a LOT of ZipLock bags and more horizontal spaces to put them all!
