Hi there, new to the site and loving it. Got a '86 FJ1200 a week ago after 14 years without 2 wheels. i will be using this site on a regular basis as a lot of work is needed to get my baby up to standard.
Welcome fellow 86' owner. Where in the world are you? Just asking for general info, if you are in SoCal then we can plan a ride.... What else have you owned/ridden?
Welcome John ! :hi: I can relate to the layoff of riding and then back on. It never go's away. :good2: As mentioned where are you located ? Sometimes there are members close by for rides and to help with maintenance issues. Lots of good help here. Ask questions as you go it is a lot cheaper and can save frustration. Some of the members have owned there FJ's since new and the depth of knowledge and opinions is great. :good2:

Unfortunately George I'm in South Africa , Pretoria. I am taking of the carbs tomorrow for a good clean. Bike does not build up revs,
I could send you a set of stock wheels from my 86', just not sure if the postage will be more than its worth.... I also do not endorse the stock wheel set up, 16" really sucks for good tire choices... Now that I have 17" front and back I am quite happy with the rubber between my bike and the road...
