Title: back shock
Post by: chiz on September 09, 2014, 11:21:22 AM
Hey all
It seems that my F4 back shock is not working, when I press down hard on the back the spring returns the shock to rest immediately with no noticeable slowing of return, the rebound is set to almost max.
Can I test the nitrogen content  using a regular tyre pressure gauge on the shock valve or will this test tell me little or nothing?
Thanks Chiz

The nitrogen content is so small that you will lose most if no all of it by checking.

The nitrogen has no little or no effect on the rebound damping. Are you sure you are adjusting it correctly? The damping gets stiffer by turning the screw into the seat. The fewer turns out from seat, the more damping.

G'day,

My F4i shock seemed to have very little rebound, so I re-set it to number 4 on the shock ring, and the rebound returned.  prior I had it set on number 2.  On the little nitro bottle i set it to just back from full hard.

cheers, Gareth
