I have an '89 FJ1200 and took the carbs off for some love and cleaning. The push throttle cable from the slide box to the carb was busted at the carb end. I've been looking for a replacement, but it looks like the only replacement parts available are from the twist grip to the slider box. Does anyone know a source for this piece? Another question while on the topic, is that cable even necessary? It seems that the carb butterfly springs do a good job of bringing the throttle back down by themselves.
Check with RPM, www.rpmracingca.com (http://www.rpmracingca.com) Randy supplies many of the FJ items we need for a fair price and quick shipping. If you can't find what you need on line, call the shop, they are a Yamaha dealer. Oh... and a Renntec dealer, and designer/supplier of custom FJ products. My new RPM shock will be arriving today, I can't wait. Get yourself to a rally and meet Randy in person, ride his fuel injected FJ....
If RPM does not have the cable Motion Pro will make you one.
Seems, there are a few on Ebay too...
