Title: stock oil filter cover bolt torque spec

Can't seem to find it in the manual. says 7ft pounds for filter cover drain screw but...

According to the GYSM,

The drain screw is 7Nm or 5 ft lbs or 60 in lbs...I personally would never remove it.

The center bolt is listed at 15Nm or 11 ft lbs.

What Randy said, leave that screw untouched. Better yet, get the RPM spin-on oil filter adapter and enjoy simpler oil changes and better filters.

Thanks for the info Randy. I have the spin-on for my 92 great addition for sure. My 89 has collector plates on it and I'm not sure I can modify it in that way. Although now that I have the plates....
