Title: Picked up a new tank bag yesterday.
Post by: Tuneforkfreak on August 24, 2014, 01:24:48 PM
Our local parts store had these Oxford bags on summer sale combo for $99.00  which included an expandable tail bag which I fit but removed as i don't need it right. Not the best stuff they sold but it will give me a place to haul some water and other items.  Don't make fun of my inner panels please,I just made those out of some old plastic mud flap. I can't see spending $300.00 for both of those panels and just wanted to cover some of the wiring a bit.

If not, then FuggIt!

Reminds me of that old joke:

Her: Who do you expect to please with _THAT_ little thing???

Him: ME!

Nice find on the tank bag  :good:

Even though I usually ride with the full hard luggage, I put on a tank bag during rides. Great for the small items that you need throughout a days ride.

[/quote] I may need to add some magnets to keep it from flapping in the breeze. I have a few left over from a wind turbine I built last year. These  N 45  rare earth mags have massive holding power.  I really wanted to get the matching side bags for $90.00 at the same time but I found this jacket on sale and figured it was time to upgrade. My old jacket ( 13 yrs) has somehow got really small in the belly area.  :unknown:

Ok I broke down and picked up the matching side bags. These are just hanging over the seat so I could see what they looked like. I'll need to fit them under the seat and make the anti sag brackets.

I use my tank bag nearly every time I ride...allways have. This ones a Chase Harper I've had for 10 years .Before that I had an Eclipse that I had since 1982 still have It  but the C/Hrpr. expands. I have a set of Kerker soft bags that I bought in 86 that I really love and use when I need to. Each one carries a 12r so thats handy. Nice lookin bags dude. And who knows any different about yer panels but you; and us. You got a very interesting garage. love that DR and what the hell is that press?         Goin riding tomorrow!                                                                                                                                                                                                                     Charley.                                :good2:

Ya I'm finding the tank bag to be extremely handy. As for the inner covers ,they seem to be working out well. I didn't have a Stock F J choke knob so I robbed a knob from an old snowmobile primer and drilled the side and put a set screw in it, It worked awesome. I think the press you're referring to is my Iron worker ( red and grey 1st pic?) I have a few different small machines in my shop like brakes, shears, tube benders and what not.
