On a recent 'For Sale' thread, there is a FJ1100 for sale that has a different type of fairing than what many of us have seen before. The fairing is manufactured by Pitchler. They were/are extremely popular in Europe.

The rack on the left looks pretty nice. :yes: I rode a GS1100E with Pitchler during a tour and it was a very well made piece. Get rid of the windscreen and replace with a low unit and it looks much better. They were/are heavy and require front end work. Weather protection was fantastic.
Why would you want to put a full fairing on an air cooled bike?
one of the selling points at the time of my purchase was the fact that you could see the engine and the added chin fairing framed the power plant perfectly --- while I don't think this fairing is ugly I wouldn't dream of covering up and hiding the beast of the bike
