This fell onto the table while washing the FJ today, it's hard rubber.

Looks like one of the bumpers from under the seat, but I will look closer at the bike in my garage when I get home.

can you throw a quarter next to it for size? Yeah, could be a seat mount, but I think mine are round..

Check your chain bumper on the swing arm for missing pieces

Yeah, that FRICKIN' $79.99 $52.60 rubber part!!!

(It's part # 28 in the diagram, and they're probably ALL starting to disintegrate : http://www.partzilla.com/parts/search/Yamaha/Motorcycle/1992/ABS+-+FJ1200AD/SWING+ARM/parts.html (http://www.partzilla.com/parts/search/Yamaha/Motorcycle/1992/ABS+-+FJ1200AD/SWING+ARM/parts.html) )

I wonder if one could be fabricated cheaper from an old piece of tire or something.

Steve, I paid less than that rubber chain guard for my complete FZ1 swingarm with good chain guard..lost about 8lbs of weight too.
