Post by: Sabre093 on July 22, 2014, 12:23:15 AM
Got home and tried to start bike and it turned over real slow...like battery was dead.....not battery I think I'm looking at starter problems..so it looks like it's going to have to be pulled apart and worked on.. anyone had this problem...

Try cracking the throttle open about an 1/8 turn when cranking, it works for me. If you can afford the upgrade then others have had good luck with the 4 brush starter from RPM.

I've been doing that Mark...but last night it turned over like my battery was almost dead.. I'm near certain I can probably clean it up to bandage it till new one arrives, think  Scouser  did a write up here somewhere..

make sure the battery has enough fluids --- if hasn't been checked FJ's tend to boil batteries pretty good too.  I am like FJmonkey -- a little crack of the throttle -- I think I full crack for me ( when hot ) typically after a gas stop etc.  and she cranks over right away.   Both common issues.
