I've coveted an FJR1300 since I rode one on a Yamaha demo tour. Unfortunately, my love for my 1998 Honda Valkyrie prevents me from springing for a newer one. This is where this bike comes in, it's an '84 FJ1100 that has 65,000kms (40k miles). It's within my budget, but I am a little concerned about parts availability, and if there are any known issues with these as it is a first year model. It does have a rather "unique" paint job.

Welcome FNG! Happy to have one more member on board. The bike seems to be in decent shape. Tell us more about your new find...
Welcome ! Looks like someone put some time in on the paint for sure. :good2: :good2:

Welcome to the group, :hi:
Looks like a great example of an 84'. Definitely a unique paint job. :good2:
As far as things to look for. The major thing that comes to mind is 2nd gear. On the first 4 years of the FJ's, 2nd gear could be a problem, when under hard acceleration in 2nd gear, the transmission would kick out of gear.
As for parts availability, Randy at www.RPMRacingCA.com (http://www.rpmracingca.com) has most of the parts that you would need.
