Title: Wheel Trueness
Post by: threejagsteve on November 11, 2009, 03:56:30 PM
Has anyone checked the trueness of a number of wheels?

GYSM says the limit is 2mm out.

One I just checked is 0.8mm out; I'm wondering... Are they ever perfect, and how much is real-world noticeable?

TIA, and cheers!  (http://i35.tinypic.com/28a1gqx.gif)

I have built /rebuilt several spoke wheels to within .020 (.5mm) without too much effort.

Thanks, Bill;

I guess I should have been clear that I was talking about a cast wheel; however, I suppose that if within .5mm on a spoked wheel is good, then .8mm on a cast wheel likely isn't going to be too bad.  :good:
