Title: Seat, Guard
Post by: Joe Sull on June 27, 2014, 06:55:10 PM
I'm getting some chain slap in the lower gears at cruise. My "Seal, guard" was worn 1200 miles ago. I saw metal in the worn away area back then. I want to take of my swing arm and polish it soon and I'm wondering if there's a fix for that.
I'm thinking that if I clean the rubber good, pot the areas that are worn and put some windshield sealer to it. That stuff is tough. I've used it on drysuit knee areas. Spread it with a putty knife and after it's dry, it remains pliable yet impervious.

It's looking kinda dingy red now. I guess I like it too. I'll strip the paint and repaint it and this time I'll but a whole can of clear over it.
I want to fix the guard though. If I get one off ebay it's gonna be in the same shape as the one I got so I'm gonna try the windshield sealer.
Thanks for beginning to like the red.
