Hi guys, does anyone know if a carbie xjr 1200 engine will fit in an 84 1100 or 86 1200?
Cheers,Steve
yes it will fit. it fits tight in the early model frames but once you learn the angle it has to go in its fairly straightforward.
some modification of the countershaft sprocket cover will be required (have to cut the tail of it off)
the output shaft is longer than a stock FJ but this is a good thing. It will allow you to easily run a wider 17" rear wheel and have the sprockets line up perfectly.
And you will have to change the Pickup coil govenor, oil level Gauge, and neutral switch assembly with the parts from your old FJ engine.

im wondering can i fit an xjr1300 motor on my 85 fj1100 frame without extream modifications because i want to get this 1300 on my 85 bore it over, stretch the bike as well as install a turbo charger to make a very nasty streetable bike that can hit the strip an so i will know that most other bikes cant compare.

I've seen a 1380cc big bore kit that (according to the eBay ad) will fit the FJ1100, FJ1200, XJR1250 and XJR1300 engine. He's a US seller, the price is $799.00, but you'll need an FJ1200 (or XJR1250) cylinder block, larger sleeves, and some machining of your crankcases to make it all fit. Still, if you're going for all out power, you can't beat cubic inches! Cheers, Terry. :good2:

That's 800 for only the pistons though.

That's right mate, I did say that you'll need sleeves and gaskets plus machining in some cases too, but what price performance? I'd love to have an FJ1200 with Hayabusa-like power? Totally unnecessary of course, but good clean fun.......... Cheers, Terry. :good2:

I would rather have a 6th gear, or a REALLY tall 5th gear
