Hello All- I'm new to the Forum. I have a 1986 FJ 1200, and I am wondering if there is a full engine cover/fairing kit available? My side covers and belly pan are in good shape, and I am wondering if there are aftermarket fairing pieces to fill in the gap between the upper and the belly pan. I have seen a few pics of some nice looking ones but I cannot find any for sale. Any and all help appreciated! Thanks- eric
Here are a couple of choices.

Welcome Eric ! Nice bike you have! You have a lot of good FJ company in your area. Yes there are panels to go between the fairing and the lower scoop but they are hard to locate. There are some new fiberglass panels available. Fred (avationfred) has about the best information on them as noted in his post.
If you can, try to get with FJmonkey and he can fill you in on the member's in the area. The "PM" feature at the top of of page is a good way to exchange contact information.

I've got the full lower, but I have no idea who the manufacturer is. It's fiberglass, not ABS, and it looks like this:

I like the way it looks. There's been some concern expressed about potential cooling/airflow issues, but I haven't had any problems. Then again, I'm in the middle of nowhere and I'm rarely stuck in traffic.

Yeah! That would be great fun. I have a few buddies I ride my Norton with, but I don't see any other FJs around, so yep that sounds fun. I'm a pretty conservative rider, ie no knee-scraping for me, but a nice long ride would be great. Thanks for the warm reception!
Rossi, that looks pretty sharp. Thanks!
Thanks Fred! The UK one looks pretty good. I may play around a bit with developing my own first, then if past experience holds I will end up ordering a set :-)
Thanks! ejd
Here's my one. http://www.fjowners.com/index.php?topic=11706.0 (http://www.fjowners.com/index.php?topic=11706.0)
Woodsman, that's super nice. Do you know where it came from? Manufacturer? Really nice pic.

I can only assume that it was made by Lockhart as is the sticker on it. I bought it with the fairing on it here in Ireland but the bike is a Californian import. Might have come from there?
Sean.

I have a full kit on mine too. Don't know what brand it is though as I got it 2nd hand from the Flying Scottsman. I like it because it's 3 pieces, making maintenance on the FJ very easy.

I believe this lower cowling is a Targa Brand.
Looks like you're correct Fred. I Binged Targa FJ1100 fairing and it actually showed me a link here on the forum from a couple years ago: http://www.fjowners.com/index.php?topic=7536.0 (http://www.fjowners.com/index.php?topic=7536.0)

That is sweet Paul, I was wondering how your bike was painted. I remember seeing pics a couple of months ago. I like it very stealth-like and kinda prototype-ish... nice! And thanks again for the tank! hopefully we can get together before the snow-shit starts fallin! Alls good in the hood! Charley.
