I think my stock mufflers might be getting a little tired. One is leaking a little. Now, a nice full exhaust from Supertrapp or something would be the thing, but I have a few other things to fix first. So, the cheaper thing would be to get some mufflers.
I looked for this, but I'm not really finding much by way of info - what would it take to run aftermarket mufflers with stock collector? I am guessing that due to outlets being angled out a straight piece of pipe from there to the muffler isn't going to work.
There are Delkevic, Viper, and Beowulf slip-ons available new. I don't know how many other brands make new slip-on cans for our FJ's. As far as used cans go..... There are a few to look out for. SuperTrapp, Yoshimura, Devil, Kerker, Beowulf and Viper to list a few. I am sure there are other brands out there.
Here is a link for a set of Viper slip-ons.

See, that's just what I was thinking - if there is a pipe that goes from the stock collector to some standard size, any slip-on would work. Trick is working up that pipe...
Fillow the link and check the exhaust section...they have the adapter pipes listed too :pardon:
Aha!
That is exactly what I was thinking of.

I'm a little worried about what the shipping across the pond will be. Too bad Randy doesn't have those. Oh, well.
Would these fit. Not sure about the size

Most any "good" muffler shop should be able to bend and swage some connector pipes for you to fit between the collector box outlets and the mufflers of your choice. They may not have polished stainless or chromed tubing, but that's not really necessary. A bit of hi-temp black paint will make them look just fine.
I would've figured Jamesearthdrum would've posted s pic or two by now... :unknown:
He's got some nice 'busa (IIRC) cans mounted up on his '89, with nice midpipes bent by a local shop.
